Thank you, Armiger84. There's a certain irony in seeing Mordoten and others in the NDC complain that their work is being ignored. Earlier this year they didn't seem worried that their committee was ignoring work in progress Rug and others had done for months to update the list (easy gents, just givi...

Well then, let's start the discussion right here. This seems like a mistake to me. I feel like the Stompa upgrade price change should have been bundled with changes to the Stompa Mob prices and the Supa Stompa upgrade cost to keep things functioning as intended. Upgrading in size gives a discount on...

If Vraks had limited daemons (maybe just a teleporting daemon formation in the 1/3 Allies section, to skip the summoning rules) it would be the perfect traitor guard list.

The disrupt hit is allocated with the regular hits and saved for at the same time. It doesn't matter if you make or fail the save for the disrupt hit, if you fail a save for a normal hit you get a BM. In addition to any disrupt BMs on the same unit? I find that odd, as the rule explicitly says you ...

I see where the confusion is happening now. It's an order of operations thing: when do you determine BMs for Disrupt? Before or after you roll your save? From the way the rule is worded, you place BMs for hits inflicted on the formation. So the Disrupt BMs are already applied before any hit allocati...

Agreed. Disrupt is on hits, period. You'd do the math on those blast markers before you even allocate hits or roll saves.

It is a D3 war Engine so the critical should be auto-kill. For what it's worth, in the Steel Legion list they're playtesting a change to the Baneblade's crit so it only loses one additional DC. No additional cost. It's only a slight improvement to durability, but it feels much less frustrating than...

Responding to your comments in the other locked thread I don't see a problem with adjusting points costs to balance units personally and it's not like there isn't a LOT of precedent - compare the SM list in the printed Epic rulebook with the Net-EA list and 14 out of the 28 formations and upgrades ...

Personally I think batreps are the most important final stage in development and list tweaking after they have been properly setup and guided by reasoned discussion and an element of maths. Maths as the be all and end all is relatively worthless IMO as their are so many factors that a straight spre...

I don't mean to single your post out, but can we please stop pretending that battle reports can ever constitute "data"? As you say yourself, there is so much randomness in a game that they are worthless statistically. All we're really doing is trying out some stuff and seeing if it feels ...

I've started a new thread to collect up Baneblade discussion and test results (for the NDC proposal and the original proposed changes). I've also run some numbers as promised to see how the changes affect damage output point-for-point. Check it all out in the Baneblade Test Thread, Part II . If you ...

As promised, I've done some math on the NDC proposal. Review The basic idea here is to compare the damage output of the Baneblade to a similar unit in the list and whose formation is regarded as worth taking. In this case we're comparing a Baneblade Company to a Leman Russ Company (swapping one Lema...

The venerable Baneblade is overdue for an overhaul. To recap quickly, the Baneblade compares poorly to other available choices in the Steel Legion list. It has jack-of-all-trades weapons similar to a Leman Russ, but low speed and lackluster damage output for the points you spend, especially at long ...

I apologize for being salty about this and coming off condescending and rude. I am trying to offer constructive feedback on the process. I'm also working on some charts showing the effect of the Baneblade changes that I think will be useful (more useful than another battle report anyway). I'm not co...

So, while you guys are arguing on the internet I've done 2 battle reports so far testing out the new changes. Mordoten, seriously, you need to quit being dismissive of criticism and address some issues with your system before it is even worth participating in this. You have approximately 90 propose...
