Hi,

Sorry for the thread necromancy but I thought it was better then starting a new thread.
I'm looking at starting an Ad-Mech skitarii Army as my first Epic army and just wanted to check what you thought of my model plans. I just want to make sure things are an appropriate size and feel right. Its nearly all from Vanguard Miniatures

Hypaspist and Sagitarii
For both of these I plan on using The cyber Shadows protector infantry
https://vanguardminiatures.co.uk/shop/cybershadow-protector-infantry/
It looks like you get 1 heavy weapon chap per 5 so the plan is to use those 4 to a base and one commander/regular chap for the Sagitarii and the rest for the Hypaspist

Secutor
For these I'll use the Cyber Shadows Command Nodes
https://vanguardminiatures.co.uk/shop/cybershadow-command-nodes/
possibly either with a few bits glued on for heavy weapons if I'm feeling brave or more likely a few gun/labour drones added to a base instead

Gun Drones
Cyber Shadows combat drones (HMG) nuff said
https://vanguardminiatures.co.uk/shop/cybershadow-combat-drones-hmgs/

Rapier Laser Destroyers
Some Onslaught Grudd heavy mining lasers on a base with a few spare labour drones and normal infantry
https://vanguardminiatures.co.uk/shop/grudd-heavy-mining-laser/

Crusader Robots
Cybaer shadows Heavy Cyborgs - although if I found an alternative these would make good Secutors
https://vanguardminiatures.co.uk/shop/cybershadows-heavy-cyborgs/

Colossus Robots
This one is a bit dubious but I was thinking the Cybershadows Skitter main battle tank, its probably way to big but I really want to use them in the army somewhere and since dunecrawlers are not in the list its going to have to be either as colossus robots or Macharius heavy tanks
https://vanguardminiatures.co.uk/shop/cybershadow-skitter-main-battle-tank/

Praetorian Combat Servitor
Cyber shadows combat drones should do nicely
https://vanguardminiatures.co.uk/shop/cybershadow-vanguard-combat-drones/

Magos
The cyber shadows master of interactions should do nicely and also provide lots of spare gun and labour drones for other bits
https://vanguardminiatures.co.uk/shop/c ... mand-node/

Hydra
Novan Regulars SP anti Aircraft - nice and cheap
https://vanguardminiatures.co.uk/shop/novan-regulars-sp-anti-aircraft/

Ordinatus Minorus and Majoris
For the assault carrier version I plan on using the Novan Rorqal super heavy transport
https://vanguardminiatures.co.uk/shop/novan-rorqual-super-heavy-assault-carrier/
However for the shooty version I plan on scrath building my own, the control pod will be the plastic Novan Regulars IFV but the rest will be whatever I can lay my hands on
https://vanguardminiatures.co.uk/shop/novan-regulars-ifv/

Chimedons
The Novan warrior heavy infantry fighting vechile is Plan A but its a bit pricey so plan B might be the cheap plastic transports with some spare guns glues on
https://vanguardminiatures.co.uk/shop/novan-warrior-heavy-infantry-fighting-vehicle-a/

Macharius Tanks
The Novan Regulars Tribune heavy tank seems right and it even come in the 3 different flavours (assuming I don't use the skitter)
https://vanguardminiatures.co.uk/shop/novan-regulars-tribune-heavy-tank-hector/

Titans
If I decide to use titans further down the line I'll just use the new GW Adeptus Titanicus ones

Anyway that's the plan, what do you think, anything you think really wont work. I know my choice for the colossus robot is probably quite iffy

Cheers

Andy

Most of what you are looking at should be ok. I'm not certain how large the Vanguard assault carrier is, but it might be too large. I'd look for something gorgon sized for that.

Your robot choices will be a bit of a problem too. Both robots are closer to dreadnought sized and the skitter is much much larger. The heavy cyborgs would work for colossus though and I'd look at some of the options earlier in this thread for the crusaders.

Thanks Vaaish
The assault carrier is described as being 6cm and from the pictures it looks half as wide, I'm not actually sure how big a Gorgon is

I might use the Skitters as heavy tanks then or my other option is to use the EpicUK army list instead and count the skitters as Leman Russ tanks. They also only have one robot option in the list so I can use the heavy cyborgs for that

I need to use the skitter for something its just to cool not to use

They are good choices.

You could try some Dystopian Wars vehicles too. The looks of some fit well, like the French and i think, from memory, the Russian too.

For the robots i can also recommend these, if you can get them:

https://hlsmodels.com/collections/exodu ... =457015249

They have the right size (66% of a Dreadnought) and their looks can fit onto a Admech army.

Hi many thanks for considering my minis for your admech project, you may like to know that there are more releases to come yet including more infantry types, at least four and also the first of the robots will be with us soon so you may wish to see what else gets released before making to many decisions on your model choices.

I'm nowhere near done yet with the Cybershadows.

I don't have a pic of the army as I'm still painting it, but I agree with pretty much all you suggest Andy.

You can see the Rorqal next to Cybershadows ordinance conveyers on the bottom right - they scale well as the track sections are very similar (and the Novan HIFV as chimedons in the middle)

Since Moredakka brought it up, I'll echo that there's some really nice stuff that would be perfect for several of the Skitarii units in progress.

To late I've already placed an order (the one that I forgot to add the onslaught grudd guns to :P ) but that was only the first order so the new stuff will hopefully add to that quite nicely

Yes Jimmyzimms is correct
They are splitting the game in 2 - land will be separate from Naval/Air

Naval/air is remaining the same scale but they are changing land to be 10mm (I think - might be 15),
They have said that they wont invalidate any existing models but what was a heavy tank before will now become a light tank for example
so I suspect all the existing light tanks that came moulded on the bases will become invalid
Oh and the new land game will be called Armoured Clash

I believe it was discussed on a few podcasts/interviews and also covered in some article on the warcradle website
