I've done a 6mm baccus Austrian army. I really like baccus and find it's a horrible shame that they are in "their own 6mm scale" rather than "standard". Never mind that.

Here's a bit from our recent Grande Armée game - Austria vs. France in Italy!

A thouroughly enjoyable game! We use the fast play variant with a bit extra stuff.

Hehe looking at the pictures now I'm not sure how much there is to see... hahah!

I guess this game is more of a "gamer" than a "looker"  :p

Wow, grand set of models those. I've always been too frightened of the paint jobs required by this period.  8v)  8v)

So how does this particular napoleonics game work? THe only one's i've ever seen we're based on...statistics! No Dice!

It's quite simple actually.

Each base is a brigade. It has a number of strenght points. The points are both used when fighting and when you see if it's has been destroyed:

I my 11 strenght point austrian brigade attacks an 8 points french brigade, I roll 11 dice aginst his 8. 5's and 6's score hits.

Deduct the number of hits a base has taken from it's number of strenght points. Meaning that the more hits you take the worse you fare in battle.

You have generals that control the battle - a wee bit like warmaster. Only not. Instead of picking an order an rolling to see whether it succeeds you roll to see whether the commander does what you want him to or makes a plan of his own!

Example: It's my turn.. I roll for my commanders to see what's going on. Each general has a value I must roll OVER to control him. I succeed with 2 and fail with 1. The troops from the 2 that succeed can now be moved around.

The last 1 will roll on a table to see what happens.. he might chose that the moment is right for a glorius charge or that the enemy is overwhelming or war is boring so he wants to go home. There are quite a lot of possibillites.

In addition - when your brigades get within 6'' of the enemy... the BRIGADE generals are also rolled for to see whether THEY have special designs they want to carry out to spoil your plans...

I love the game - try it - it's free!

Painting NAPPY 6mm is NOT an issue... very easy in fact! and cheap
