So last week a package arrived from vangaurd games. A whole bunch of sprues from the defeat in detail indiegogo campaign.

The humans were fine to clip from the sprues.
Bad points.
The single pose is a slight nuisance for modellers.
The bases were molded with quite a high release undercut. Coupled with the sprue connector there the models tend to need some cleanup before they will sut flat.

Good points.
Skinny. I like my gaurd to look like skinny humans against an uncaring universe. I think i snapped three ankles accidently when basing out over 120 models. I tend to loose that many to the carpet. Basing continues.

Cool. I wonder who will be the first to finish an infantry company with these...

I find the infantry plastic or metal a bit fragile. FW did something similar years ago when they started producing Epic. They made the figures of a very brittle, fragile resin ... I believe they have start using better resin afterwards.

I love detail, but it needs to be "game/gamer friendly" not too fragile and brittle to be used for the gaming table, IMO ... I bought these metal Skinners awhile back ... the axes, etc., wouldn't last long in transport or play.

I spend[waste] too much time painting these tiny things to have them broken in an attempt to just move then. Model designers/makers need to think about this. I won't buy anything with fragile parts anymore. Especially at the ankles, wrists, weapons barrels, etc. ...

The FW Epic Gray Knights I had to glue the old banner poles on as "movement sticks" ... And I'm going to have reinforce all the barrels, for many of the old FW Epic vehicles I have. And I have not even started on the FW Epic Tau I have. Knowing how much work I'll have to do to make them "survivable" ... I have had DiD barrels come broken in the mail and had to glue a "collar" or something to keep it from being too easily broken off again.

Again, I only say this not as a warning not to buy a product. But to the model makers' attention to see there is or could be a problem ...

FW Tau are a pain, true. Nit deeply impressed with the did plastics to be honest. Perhaps paint a base each and the vehicles as a memento and ditch the rest asap I think. The mortar is a nice sculpt.

Not sure why the ork.. sorry Skinnerz... have such big, primate like ears.
