I would be interested in an update on the RE Troopers, though.

Hi guys,

The development lifecycle of a miniature takes time, depending on the sculptor and type of model it can take 30 mins or a few months for a miniature to be sculpted.

We then have to get them prototyped and investment cast, each process takes approximately 4 - 8 weeks and if we don't like the prototype then we have to resculpt.

Then we master cast, this normally takes about a week, if we don't like the end result we try casting again with a new mould, normally that fixes it, but sometimes a resculpt is in order.

Then we production cast, it normally takes two to three weeks as we buy in bulk.

Then we get the production models painted up for the studio army.

At this point we slot them into the next release (we do two releases a month).

I can assure you that we are not getting bogged down with 28mm releases. Whilst Dom is mainly a 28mm gamer, I am a 6mm gamer and I control the budget. The 6mm release schedule is stuffed to the gunnels with goodness and we'll be maintaining our momentum for until mid next year at a minimum.

I recognise that we haven't been communicating our various projects status very well so I'll be putting our release schedule and a status on every model onto the website to keep everyone better informed in the future.

Whilst we are waiting, here are updates on the models you've requested:

Medium Behemoth - Sculpted
Massive Behemoth - (Will double check tonight but in theory also sculpted)
RE Infantry Regiment - Production cast, awaiting studio painting
RE Heavy Weapons Platoon - Production cast, awaiting studio painting
RE Assault Infantry Platoon - Production cast, awaiting studio painting

The second wave of RE infantry (see blog) if being finished off by the sculptor and when he is finished will be sent to be prototyped.

Netepic, thanks for clarifying this.

I appologize if I have over-reacted to Exodus Wars foray into 28 mm. On, I believe it is your blog, I thought I read something to the effect that the 6mm releases would in the future coincide with their 28mm counterparts. It is for this reason I thought things were being delayed.

Since the 28mm field is so well represented, it's too bad the other line couldn't be 15mm instead.
The reason I say this is it would be more of a niche (although more small companies are filling it) and the sculpts then perhaps could be reduced to 6mm scale via Toluene evaporation mold scale reduction techniques (step ups?). You then could use traditional sculpts/scuptors, and just one initial sculpt. Producing both scales simultaneously off the same original sculpt. Just a thought.

No worries chap, I'm equally frustrated :D.

I'm a 15mm fan too chap, but for skirmish games, 28mm fits our ruleset better.

Will that Quadruped Behemoth be released, or has it fallen by the wayside?

It will be released. Probably after the small, medium, large and massive Behemoths though.

Good news! The Royal Empire Assault Infantry is painted, it'll be released on the first. Conscripts are being painted now.

We are currently doing a test print at a new 3D printer. If it works then we'll be printing, the large and medium Behemoths are ready to go.

I know its been an almost Duke Nukem level of wait but we'll keep you informed the second they go to print.
