They have a slightly elevated rim so you can put sand and other basing material on the base. See our 28mm miniatures, they use them.

You can already get round bases with no holes in 30mm/40mm/50mm size.

What you can get readily are round bases with holes for epic infantry. I would be interested in round bases if could fit squad of 5 figures, preferably with irregular pattern of holes so they don't look too regimented.

Cheers

James

I'd love 30mm and 50mm round bases personally, number of holes = 0

These are already readily available.

the 30mm ones are certainly interesting.... what does 'lipped' mean in this context?

Look at Warmachine style bases as opposed to GW style

Round, 30mm x 30mm x 2mm, with 5 holes :)

Could probably stand to be smaller, but only slightly. 25x25 would give the same area as 12x40 rectangles, but those are probably still on the tight side.

Granted they are not under your control and it is not ideal, but good 40x12x2 rectangles are already available to the consumer from GW. I daresay they would be popular though. On the other hand, 2mm round bases with holes would fit in with these and aren't available elsewhere in plastic.

Yep +1 to this

I would buy 30 mm round with the recessed holes by the barrel, or hundred count per go, I'd like them at least 2mm thick.

DRM already produce round bases with 5x recesses. I thought the point of this exercise was to create a useful & desirable base format that isn't already commercially available ?? :{[]

I am "desperate" for lots of 15mm clear acrylic round bases (2-3mm deep) with 1, 2 & possibly even 3 offset infantry recesses ..

The point is to make bases available at half (or less) the current market price, I'd expect. Thats the point of using plastics.

The problem with the DRM round bases is that they are too regimented. The holes are in symmetrical pattern so you can't get no variety. It's the same reason that i prefer the newer long narrow bases as opposed to the old square bases.

If we could get round bases with holes that were more varied in pattern then would look a lot better.

Cheers

James

I'm using the DRM bases, and while they are pretty nice there's two issues with them, both already mentioned here (just chiming in): Holes are too regular, and they're too big (something like 27mm). It's noticably worse for gameplay than a standard strip base, which is a bit annoying. I still don't regret mounting my Necrons on the round bases, but I would appreciate something smaller. I also think they're just a bit too thick.

Yes, his would be ideal for me, too.

Agreed! Asymmetry in round bases is best, as a simple rotation gives you the variety we want.

20mm round with 3 or 4 holes would be ideal for me.
