To give you an idea of the modular nature of the hull and its weapons:

As to your comments from the email:
Quote:
Liking the new hulls mate this is turning out to be quite a vehicle park your putting together, what's that now if you include all weapon options to date and the new hull possibilities too it must be a dozen at least.

Keep in mind that the turrets can't be mounted on these two new hulls, they'd have different weapon systems that can be integrated. However, the turrets from the IVR (various packs) and the turret emplacements are indeed interchangeable. At the moment the IVR could be mounted with 16 different turrets:
-Standard pack (multiple laser, twin linked HMGs, flame thrower, autocannon)
-Weapons of Faith pack (twin linked HMGs, twin linked flame throwers, twin linked subatomic heat weapons)
-Nostalgia pack (quad autocannons, light battlecannon, multiple laser + missiles, heavy laser cannon, medic)
-Turret emplacement (plasma cannon, subatomic heat weapon, laser cannon, twin linked autocannons)

Quote:
The new open backed version could become the heavy flame tank version as well instead of a special hull just for the one vehicle.

Not sure yet, at the moment I can't mount a turret on the front of the hull. Having such a component on there might mess up the design when I want to use it for different purposes (artillery weapons on the back for example). I am tempted to make another hull variant that will allow for three new turrets (ultra heavy flame thrower, subatomic cannon, chem cannon). But that will be for a later addition.

How you have it was what I was thinking so we are on the same track here.

I realise the turrets won't go on these new hulls but with adapter parts maybe they could.

Looking to keep printing costs down by not having to many hull variants.

You dig my redesign of the open topped variant then!

It will not only allow you to turn this tank into a flame throwing monster, but the back can be modified to be turned into a heavy artillery battery.

Also continued working on the 'Siege Tank', which is now more of a 'hunter tank' (either tank hunting or bunker busting):

Brilliant how do you crank all these re-designs out so quickly your turn around is fast to say the least.

Did a quick tweak on the flame tank. It's basically the new 'siege hull' but with a turret on top and a fuel tank on the back. Plan is to have the following parts in this kit:
-Hull
-Dozer and hull weapons sprue (taken from the standard IFV)
-Turret sprue (heavy flame cannon, heavy subatomic heat cannon, chemical cannon)
-Fuel tank

And some pics of course:

I approve of the overall design but to me the turrets and weapons are to large they need scaling back somewhat.

Other than that nice work mate.

I will work on the weapons ASAP, will decrease them slightly. As for the turrets, they are the same size as the other turrets, only taller, I'll make them a bit shorter.

The fuel tank component is as good as ready. After that it's tweaking the turrets a bit, see if I forgot anything on the hull, and a new kit is ready to be shipped off.

Here's a closer look on the fuel tank:

The turrets are the same size you say, they look so much bigger on this design maybe it is the height that's giving that impression.

Nice fuel tank, one question why do the other turret variants have fuel pods?

i'm liking these but why do the other weapons variants need fuel pods it should just be the hellhound proxy with a pod. I like the idea of being able to put other turrets on this hull but we need something else in the back maybe some passenger seats or something instead, your thoughts behind the pods please sir.

John

The reason I went for the fuel pod for all three tanks is that they represent the Hellhound and its two variants, see Lexicanum for more info on those.

There will of course be other variants based on this hull with different turrets and different back components (like passenger seats and so on).
